Clubs and Societies

Clubs and Societies at St. Maria Goretti S.S.S Katende provide the students with an opportunity to develop and nurture their hobbies and interests into important life skills. This is an important aspect of the co-curricular activities at SMAGOK. Each Club and Society has a Patron who is a teacher and he/she provides leadership in addition to liaising with the School Administration.

Clubs and Society is an arm of the Welfare Department (Headed by Deputy Head Teacher-Welfare: Mrs. Kyebuzibwa Olivia). Mr. Sseddembe Edward is the designated Overall Clubs Patron whose task is to coordinate all Clubs’ Patrons (Teachers). Each Club/Society has a designated Patron whose main responsibility is to ensure good leadership in the Club. He/she creates a link between the School Administration and the Club.

Each student must belong to at least one Club/Society. With a population of over a thousand students, each Club/Society must have at least a minimum of 20 students.

Common Practices in All Clubs

• Club Sessions/Meetings every week
• Each Club has a leadership committee
• Each Club has Membership-Terms/IDs
• Each Club has a Club-Shirt with a logo/Slogan

To all Parents:
Our dear parent, we humbly request you to support the students financially when it comes to the acquisition of Club T-shirts/uniforms, payment of tours and workshop fees if required; among other obligations that may be required by the different Clubs but only upon authorization through the Club Patron.
